This GitHub Pages policy is designed to replace the older Google Sites privacy destination with a clearer, app-specific privacy page.
Current privacy disclosure snapshot
Apple’s current public privacy label lists identifiers for tracking, third-party advertising, and analytics. User Content is not currently listed as a collected data category.
Scope and developer
This Privacy Policy applies to AI Grammar Checker Dictionary, also branded as Gramlyse, published by Muhammad Ahsan Shaaf. It explains how information may be processed when you use grammar checking, rewriting, essay tools, citation tools, dictionary features, career-writing tools, subscriptions, advertising, analytics, and support.
This policy should be read together with the privacy information displayed on the App Store product page.
Current App Store privacy disclosure
The current public App Store privacy label indicates that Identifiers, including Device ID, may be used for tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. Device ID may also be collected and linked to you for third-party advertising and analytics.
The current public label does not list User Content as a collected data category. Accordingly, this policy does not claim that writing input is retained or linked to your identity.
Text, prompts and AI processing
Text you submit
When you use AI-assisted features such as grammar checking, rewriting, essay generation, thesis generation, citation assistance, vocabulary tools, professional writing, or related functionality, the text, prompt, topic, source details, or other content you provide must be processed to generate the requested result.
Depending on the production architecture, processing may occur through AI or infrastructure providers acting on behalf of the App. The intended use is to return the requested output and operate the feature.
The current App Store privacy label does not list User Content as collected. Your production backend and AI-provider configuration should remain consistent with that disclosure. If submitted text is retained, associated with an account/device, logged beyond transient processing, or used for additional purposes, the App Store privacy answers and this policy should be updated.
Sensitive information
Do not submit passwords, financial account details, government identification numbers, confidential employer information, protected health information, or other highly sensitive data into AI-writing fields unless a feature clearly requires it and you are authorized to provide it.
Device identifiers
Device identifiers may be used for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, consent management, frequency controls, product measurement, and related technical purposes. The current App Store disclosure identifies Device ID as linked to you for third-party advertising and analytics, and identifiers as potentially used for tracking.
Advertising and tracking
The App contains advertising in the free experience and may use third-party advertising technology such as Google AdMob. Advertising providers may process device identifiers, ad interaction data, consent signals, approximate technical information, and related information subject to platform permissions and applicable law.
Where Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency permission applies, tracking-related processing should occur according to the choice you make. You can manage relevant privacy permissions in iOS Settings.
Google’s privacy information is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Analytics
Analytics may be used to understand app usage, diagnose crashes or errors, evaluate feature performance, measure retention, and improve reliability. The current App Store privacy disclosure lists Device ID under Analytics and indicates that it may be linked to you.
Subscriptions and StoreKit
Gramlyse Pro subscriptions and other in-app purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your complete payment-card information. We may receive transaction identifiers, entitlement status, product identifiers, renewal state, or related purchase information needed to unlock Pro features, restore purchases, prevent fraud, or provide support.
Citation and source information
If you use citation-generation tools, you may provide source titles, authors, URLs, publication dates, publisher names, DOI information, or similar bibliographic data. That information is processed to format the requested citation.
Generated citations can contain errors or incomplete formatting. Always verify citations against the original source and the rules required by your school, employer, publisher, or style guide.
Support communications
If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, contact details, screenshots, device model, iOS version, app version, subscription issue details, and the content of your support message.
Service providers and disclosure
We may use service providers for App Store billing, advertising, analytics, AI processing, infrastructure, crash reporting, security, and support. These providers may process information only as necessary for the services they provide, subject to their terms, our configuration, and applicable law.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, legal process, fraud prevention, security, or to protect users, the App, or legal rights.
Retention and deletion
We aim to retain information we control only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, respond to support, maintain security, prevent fraud, comply with legal/accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
AI input should not be retained beyond what is necessary for feature delivery unless the production implementation and privacy disclosures expressly support additional retention.
You may request deletion of personal information we control by contacting ahsanshaaf@gmail.com. Some records may need to be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting, or legitimate dispute resolution.
Your choices and rights
- Tracking: manage tracking permission in iOS privacy settings where available.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel Gramlyse Pro through Apple ID subscription settings.
- Advertising choices: use platform and consent controls where available.
- Access / deletion: contact ahsanshaaf@gmail.com.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability.
Children and students
The App is intended as a general productivity and writing tool and is not designed as a child-directed service. Students should use the App in accordance with school rules, parental or guardian requirements where applicable, and local law.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used for cross-border processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App, AI providers, advertising/analytics SDKs, subscriptions, legal requirements, or data practices change. The “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are made.
