This Privacy Policy explains how Metal Detector processes sensor readings, locally saved scan history, purchase status, advertising and analytics information, and support communications. It is intended to be read together with the privacy disclosures presented on the App Store.
Privacy architecture snapshot
The App is designed without account creation, keeps saved scan history locally, uses sensor readings for functionality, and may use Apple, Google and Firebase services for purchases, advertising, consent, analytics and configuration.
Scope and developer
This Privacy Policy applies to Metal Detector, published by Muhammad Ahsan Shaaf. It explains how information may be processed when you use live magnetic-field scanning, guided calibration, Surface Sweep, Object Scanner, Electronics Scan, saved history, guides, Premium subscriptions, advertising, analytics and support.
The App does not require you to create an account.
Magnetometer and magnetic-field readings
The App uses the iPhone’s built-in magnetic-field sensors to display live magnetic-field strength and X, Y and Z axis values, identify relative peaks or anomalies, provide signal-quality feedback and generate scan summaries.
Sensor readings are used to provide App functionality. They are not intended to identify you and are not sold as personal scan-history data.
Motion data
Where available and enabled by the relevant feature, motion information may be used to improve guided Surface Sweep movement quality, orientation feedback or scan consistency.
Motion data is used to support the requested scanning experience. If our handling of motion data materially changes, this Privacy Policy and the applicable App Store privacy disclosures will be updated as appropriate.
Saved scans and sweep history
Scan reports, magnetic peaks, summaries, Surface Sweep results and heatmap-style history may be stored locally on your device so you can review previous results.
The App does not require an account to save this history. You can clear saved scans from Settings using the available clear-history controls.
Local data may also be affected by your device backup configuration. Removing the App generally removes its local application data, subject to iOS backup and restore behavior.
Advertising
Free users may see advertising provided through Google AdMob. Advertising partners may process device, usage, advertising, consent and diagnostic information according to their own policies, your iOS permissions and applicable law.
Premium users do not receive in-app ads while an eligible Premium entitlement is active.
Google’s privacy information is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Consent and Google User Messaging Platform
Where required by law or advertising-platform rules, Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) may request consent or privacy choices for advertising. Your selections may be used to determine how eligible ads are delivered.
You may also have platform-level controls in iOS for tracking or advertising permissions.
Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics may collect app-usage events such as screen views, feature interactions, scan-mode usage, subscription-status category, ad events and other product analytics configured in the production build.
Analytics is used to understand how features perform, improve reliability, evaluate product flows and measure broad usage patterns. Analytics configuration is reviewed alongside the App Store privacy disclosure so that the published privacy information reflects the services enabled in the App.
Firebase Remote Config
Firebase Remote Config may be used to control non-sensitive app behavior remotely, such as ad availability, feature flags, presentation settings or configuration values.
Remote Config is not intended to expose your locally saved scan history to the developer.
StoreKit purchases and subscription status
Premium purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions are processed through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your complete payment-card information.
The App may receive transaction identifiers, product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal state, expiration or revocation status and similar information necessary to unlock Premium, restore purchases, remove ads and maintain the correct free/Premium state.
Support communications
If you contact support, your email address, message and any information you choose to include are handled through your email app and the email service involved in sending and receiving the message.
If you contact us through another channel such as WhatsApp, that service processes the information you choose to send according to its own terms and privacy practices.
Third-party service providers
The App may use Apple for StoreKit billing and platform services, Google for AdMob and UMP, and Firebase for Analytics and Remote Config. These providers may process device, usage, advertising, diagnostic, consent or purchase-related information according to the services enabled and their own policies.
No account and no sale of scan history
The App does not require user account creation.
We do not sell your personal scan history. Locally saved magnetic scan and Surface Sweep history is intended to remain on your device unless a future feature clearly tells you otherwise and the privacy disclosures are updated accordingly.
Retention and deletion
Locally saved scan history remains on your device until you clear it through Settings, reset relevant app data or remove the App, subject to iOS backup behavior.
Third-party advertising, analytics and purchase providers may retain data according to their own documented policies and the production configuration used by the App.
You may request deletion of personal information we control by contacting ahsanshaaf@gmail.com. Some limited records may need to be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes.

Children's privacy
The App is a general utility and educational reference tool and is not designed as a child-directed service. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us so we can review the issue.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information processed. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Third-party providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used for cross-border processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if sensor handling, saved-history behavior, Firebase modules, advertising, consent, subscriptions, support flows or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are made.
