Terms & Conditions

Clear rules for a magnetic-field scanner.

These Terms cover sensor limitations, calibration, Surface Sweep, peak/anomaly feedback, electronics scanning, professional-use exclusions, Premium subscriptions, Apple billing, advertising, liability and Apple’s EULA.

Effective August 14, 2026

These Terms are written specifically for Metal Detector and its magnetometer, motion-assisted sweep, history, guide, subscription and advertising functionality.

01

Acceptance and scope

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Metal Detector and related services provided by Muhammad Ahsan Shaaf. By using the App, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple’s App Store terms and the applicable end-user license agreement.

02

What the App provides

Metal Detector provides real-time magnetic-field readings, X/Y/Z axis values, guided calibration, Metal Scanner, Surface Sweep, Object Scanner, Electronics Scan, magnetic peak and anomaly feedback, signal-quality feedback, result summaries, saved scan history, saved sweep history with heatmap-style visualization, educational guides and related utility features.

03

How detection works

The App uses the iPhone’s magnetic-field sensors. It does not use the camera to detect metal.

The sensor measures changes in the local magnetic field. A stronger reading or anomaly does not by itself establish the exact object, material, depth, size, location or safety condition causing the reading.

Not every metal produces a strong magnetic response

Results depend heavily on the object’s magnetic properties, distance from the phone, orientation, surrounding electronics, magnets, steel structures, device sensor characteristics and calibration.

04

Calibration and environmental interference

Calibration guidance is intended to improve consistency, not to guarantee accuracy. Nearby speakers, chargers, magnets, electronics, vehicles, structural steel, magnetic accessories, cases and environmental interference can affect readings.

If readings appear unstable, move away from known interference, recalibrate as instructed and compare multiple scans rather than relying on a single value.

05

Metal Scanner, Object Scanner and Electronics Scan

Scan modes organize readings for different casual-use scenarios. Their names describe the user workflow; they do not convert the iPhone into specialized professional detection equipment.

Electronics Scan can indicate changes in magnetic-field readings near electronics or magnetic components, but it cannot diagnose electrical faults, live wiring, electromagnetic safety, device defects or hazardous conditions.

06

Surface Sweep and heatmap-style results

Surface Sweep organizes multiple readings across a user-guided grid. Heatmap-style colors and anomaly markers are visual summaries of recorded magnetic-field readings.

They are not x-ray, radar, ultrasound or photographic images of what exists behind a wall, floor, surface or object. They do not establish exact depth, dimensions or material composition.

07

Peak, anomaly and signal-quality feedback

Peak and anomaly detection highlights relative changes in sensor readings. Signal-quality feedback reflects the App’s interpretation of scan consistency and movement conditions.

These indicators are aids for comparison and exploration only. They are not certified measurements or professional inspection results.

08

Professional-use exclusions

Not a professional safety instrument

Do not use the App as a substitute for professional construction, electrical, medical, industrial, security, law-enforcement, explosive-detection, utility-locating, structural-inspection or life-safety equipment.

Do not drill, cut, excavate, open electrical equipment, enter restricted areas or make a safety-critical decision solely because the App did or did not show a magnetic anomaly.

09

Saved scans and educational guides

Saved scans, sweep history and guide content are provided for personal reference and education. Guide material is general information and does not replace manufacturer instructions, professional training, applicable codes, regulations or expert inspection.

10

Premium subscriptions

The App offers optional auto-renewable Premium subscriptions. Premium removes in-app ads and unlocks the full premium experience, including uninterrupted scanning and guide usage where described in the App.

The intended base subscription plans are:

  • Weekly Premium: $6.00 per week.
  • Monthly Premium: $15.00 per month.
  • Yearly Premium: $69.00 per year.

The price shown in Apple’s purchase confirmation sheet at the time of purchase is the price that applies to your transaction. Prices can vary by country or region and may include applicable taxes or Apple pricing adjustments.

11

Purchase, renewal and restore scenarios

  • Apple processes purchases and renewals through StoreKit and your Apple ID.
  • Premium activates only after Apple verifies an eligible transaction or entitlement.
  • If you cancel a purchase before completion, no completed charge is created and Premium is not activated.
  • If a purchase is pending, Premium activates only after Apple completes and verifies the transaction.
  • If a subscription expires, is revoked or is otherwise inactive, the App returns to the free experience with ads.
  • Restore Purchases may be used from the paywall to restore eligible subscriptions associated with the Apple ID.
  • An eligible Premium entitlement is intended to remain available on compatible devices where the App is available when Apple recognizes the same subscription entitlement, subject to StoreKit and App Store rules.
  • You manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple ID / App Store subscription settings.
12

Advertising

Free users may receive in-app advertising. Premium users do not receive in-app ads while an eligible Premium entitlement is active.

Ad format, frequency, availability and provider may change subject to platform rules, consent requirements and applicable law.

13

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for unlawful, deceptive, dangerous or harmful purposes.
  • Present App readings as certified professional inspection, electrical testing, safety clearance, medical evidence or security screening.
  • Attempt to bypass subscription access, service limits, advertising controls or security protections except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise.
  • Use the App in a way that endangers people, property or infrastructure.
14

Third-party services

The App may rely on Apple for StoreKit and platform services, Google for AdMob and consent management, and Firebase for Analytics and Remote Config. Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

15

Intellectual property

The App, software, design, branding, original guide content and related materials are owned by or licensed to Muhammad Ahsan Shaaf and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the App for lawful purposes, subject to Apple’s applicable license terms.

16

Availability and changes

We may add, modify, restrict, suspend or remove features where reasonably necessary for product development, sensor compatibility, security, advertising configuration, service-provider changes, legal compliance or technical reasons.

Sensor behavior can also vary across iPhone hardware, iOS versions and environmental conditions.

17

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App and its readings are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee exact measurement accuracy, reliable detection of every object, identification of material type, depth estimation, professional suitability or uninterrupted operation.

Mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.

18

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages arising from reliance on a reading, missed detection, false anomaly, calibration issue, professional-use misuse, property damage, electrical work, construction decisions, security decisions or service interruption.

Liabilities that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.

19

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of material violation of these Terms, fraud, abuse, security risk, legal requirements or discontinuation of the service.

Deleting the App does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. Subscription cancellation must be completed through Apple.

20

Apple App Store terms and EULA

Unless a custom EULA is separately provided through App Store Connect, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies. These website Terms supplement rather than replace Apple’s applicable terms.

21

Consumer rights and severability

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove mandatory rights available under applicable consumer law. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary while the remaining provisions continue to apply.

22

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms if the App’s scan modes, sensor behavior, Premium benefits, subscription plans, advertising, service providers or legal requirements change.
