01

Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Gold Scanner & Detector (the “App”), published by Muhammad Ahsan Shaaf (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the App and related support services.

This policy is intended to work together with the privacy information shown on the App Store product page. If our actual data practices change, we will update the applicable App Store privacy disclosures and this policy as appropriate.

02

Information the App may process

Photos and videos you choose to use

When you use an AI-assisted scan, you may choose an image from your camera or photo library. The App Store privacy disclosure currently identifies User Content — Photos or Videos as data that may be collected for app functionality and not linked to your identity.

Selected images may be processed to provide the requested scan or analysis. Only submit images you are authorized to use. Avoid including sensitive personal information or unrelated people in images submitted for analysis.

Device identifiers

The App Store privacy disclosure currently identifies Identifiers, including Device ID, as data that may be used for third-party advertising, developer advertising or marketing, and analytics. Identifiers may also be used for tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies where permitted and where the required authorization has been obtained.

Purchase and subscription information

Premium subscriptions and other in-app purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment-card details. We may receive transaction, entitlement, or purchase-status information necessary to provide premium access, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and troubleshoot billing-related issues.

Support communications

If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address or phone number, app version, screenshots, device information, and the contents of your support message.

03

How information is used

  • Provide AI-assisted scan results and other requested app functionality.
  • Operate calculators, saved reports, premium entitlements, and restore-purchase flows.
  • Provide and measure advertising where ads are enabled.
  • Understand app performance, usage, and product reliability through analytics.
  • Respond to support requests and investigate technical problems.
  • Protect the App, users, and services against abuse, fraud, or security threats.
  • Meet legal, regulatory, App Store, accounting, or enforcement obligations where applicable.
04

Advertising, analytics and tracking

The App contains advertising and may use third-party advertising technology such as Google AdMob. Advertising providers may process device identifiers, ad interaction information, consent signals, approximate technical information, and related data in accordance with their own policies and applicable platform permissions.

Where Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency framework or another consent mechanism applies, tracking-related processing should occur only in accordance with the permission you provide and applicable law. You can change relevant privacy permissions in iOS Settings.

Analytics services may process identifiers or app events to help us understand app reliability and usage. We use analytics information to improve features, detect errors, and evaluate product performance.

Google privacy information

You can review Google’s privacy information at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

05

AI-assisted analysis and service providers

AI-assisted features may require selected content to be sent to service providers that process requests on our behalf. Those providers may process submitted content and technical request information only as needed to perform the requested service, subject to their contractual terms and privacy practices.

AI output is probabilistic and may be inaccurate. Privacy protections do not change the fact that scan results are informational and should not be treated as certified gold testing or professional appraisal.

06

Device permissions and sensor features

The App may request access to your camera and photo library when you choose to capture or select an image. You can deny or revoke those permissions in iOS Settings, although certain scan features will not work without them.

Metal Detector mode uses supported iPhone sensors to display magnetic-field changes. Magnetometer readings primarily respond to magnetic or ferrous materials and do not independently identify or authenticate gold.

07

Sharing and disclosure

We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:

  • Apple for App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and platform services.
  • Advertising, analytics, AI-processing, infrastructure, and technical service providers that support App functionality.
  • Professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent fraud.
  • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the relevant business or product, subject to applicable law.

We do not authorize service providers to use information we provide to them for purposes unrelated to the services they perform for us, except where separately disclosed to you or permitted by law.

08

Data retention and deletion

We aim to retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App and support services, maintain security and fraud-prevention records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Saved scan history or reports stored locally on your device generally remain available until you delete them through the App, reset relevant app data, or remove the App, subject to your device backup settings.

Third-party service providers may retain information according to their own documented retention practices and our service configuration.

You may request deletion of personal information that we control by contacting ahsanshaaf@gmail.com. We may need to retain limited information where required by law, security, fraud prevention, accounting, or legitimate dispute-resolution needs.

09

10

Children's privacy

The App is not designed as a child-directed service or for collecting personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

11

Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used for cross-border transfers.

12
