This GitHub Pages policy is designed to replace the older Google Sites destination with a clearer, app-specific privacy page.
Current privacy disclosure snapshot
The current App Store privacy label lists identifiers for tracking, advertising/marketing and analytics, plus photos/videos for app functionality.
Scope and developer
This Privacy Policy applies to Plant ID: AI Plant Doctor, published by Muhammad Ahsan Shaaf. It explains how information may be processed when you use plant identification, sick-leaf analysis, AI Plant Doctor questions, care guidance, reminders, plant collections, health history, subscriptions, advertising and support.
This policy should be read together with the privacy information displayed on the App Store product page.
Current App Store privacy disclosure
The current public App Store privacy label indicates that Identifiers may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
It also identifies Device ID as data that may be collected and linked to you for third-party advertising, developer advertising or marketing, and analytics.
The label identifies User Content — Photos or Videos as data that may be collected for app functionality and not linked to your identity.
Plant photos and image analysis
When you use plant identification or plant-health scan features, you may capture or choose a photo of a plant, leaf, flower, tree, weed, herb, or houseplant. Those images are processed to provide identification, symptom information and care guidance.
Selected images may be sent to service providers acting on behalf of the App where remote AI processing is needed. The intended purpose is to provide the requested result.
Only submit images you are authorized to use. Avoid including unrelated people, personal documents or sensitive information in plant photos.
AI Plant Doctor questions
When you ask the AI Plant Doctor a question, the text you submit must be processed to generate the requested response. Depending on the production architecture, processing may occur through AI or infrastructure providers acting on behalf of the App.
The intended use is to provide the requested plant-care response. If the production implementation retains, links, reuses or trains on user-entered text beyond what is necessary to provide the feature, the privacy policy and App Store privacy answers should be reviewed and updated accordingly.
Device identifiers
Device identifiers may be processed for advertising, marketing measurement, analytics, consent management, fraud prevention, frequency controls, technical operations and related purposes. The current App Store privacy label identifies Device ID as linked to you for third-party advertising, developer advertising/marketing and analytics.
Advertising, analytics and tracking
The App contains advertising and may use third-party advertising technology such as Google AdMob. Advertising providers may process identifiers, ad interaction data, consent signals, approximate technical information and related data subject to platform permissions and applicable law.
Analytics services may process identifiers or app events to help understand reliability, feature usage and product performance.
Where Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency framework applies, tracking-related processing should follow the choice you make. You can change relevant privacy permissions in iOS Settings.

Premium subscriptions and StoreKit
Plant ID Premium subscriptions and other in-app purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your complete payment-card information.
We may receive transaction identifiers, entitlement status, product identifiers, renewal state or similar purchase information needed to unlock Premium features, restore purchases, prevent fraud and respond to billing-related support requests.
Plant collection, notes and health history
The App may allow you to save identified plants, notes, scan results, observations, care actions and plant-health history. Depending on the current build and feature, some or all of this information may be stored locally on your device.
Locally stored information generally remains until you delete it through the App, reset relevant app data or remove the App, subject to your device backup settings.
Care reminders and notifications
If you create watering, fertilizing, misting, pruning, repotting or other care reminders, the App may request permission to send notifications. You can allow, deny or later change notification permission in iOS Settings.
Reminder schedules may be stored on your device as needed to provide the requested reminder functionality.
Support communications
If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, contact details, device model, iOS version, app version, screenshots, purchase details and the content of your support message.
Service providers and sharing
We may use service providers for App Store billing, advertising, analytics, AI processing, infrastructure, crash or technical services, security and support. Providers may process information only as necessary to perform those services, subject to their terms, our configuration and applicable law.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, legal process, fraud prevention, security or to protect legal rights and users.
Retention and deletion
We aim to retain information we control only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, support users, maintain security, prevent fraud, comply with legal/accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
Third-party providers may retain information according to their own documented retention practices and our service configuration.
You may request deletion of personal information we control by contacting ahsanshaaf@gmail.com. Some records may need to be retained where required by law, security, fraud prevention, accounting or legitimate dispute resolution.

- Camera / Photos: manage permissions in iOS Settings.
- Notifications: manage reminder-notification permission in iOS Settings.
- Tracking: manage tracking permission in iOS privacy settings where available.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel Plant ID Premium through Apple ID subscription settings.
- Advertising choices: use platform and consent controls where available.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability.
Children's privacy
The App is a general plant-care and lifestyle utility and is not designed as a child-directed service. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information processed. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used for cross-border processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App, advertising providers, AI services, subscriptions, legal requirements or data practices change. The “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are made.
